Yateley Inbox

Yateley Inbox is a private tool run by the Women's 1st XI at Yateley Cricket Club, Hampshire, England. It helps the club's volunteer organiser keep track of replies to the club's overseas-player advert. It is not a public service and only the club's own Google account uses it.

Privacy policy

What it accesses. With the club's permission, the tool reads email in the club's own Gmail account (yateleyccwomenscricket@gmail.com) and can send email from it. It asks Google for read-only access to the mailbox and permission to send. It cannot delete or change mail.

What it does with it. It reads replies to the club's advert, writes a short summary of each, keeps track of which clubs have been contacted and have replied, and forwards applications to the club's two coaches. It sends the organiser a short notification for each new reply.

Who else sees it. To write the summaries, the text of each reply is sent to Anthropic's Claude service, which does not use it to train its models. Notifications go through Telegram to the organiser's own phone. Nothing is sold, used for advertising or shared with anyone else.

Where it is kept. Summaries, attachments and the contact list are stored on the organiser's own computer, readable only by the organiser, with daily backups on the same computer. The tool keeps them only for as long as the club is recruiting for the coming season.

Google user data. Yateley Inbox's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your choices. If you have emailed the club and want your message or details removed, email yateleyccwomenscricket@gmail.com and we will delete them. The club account's owner can withdraw the tool's access at any time from their Google Account's security settings.

Contact. Clive Griffiths, Women's 1st XI Coach, Yateley Cricket Club: yateleyccwomenscricket@gmail.com.
